About Glide
The Glide group is the UK’s market-leader in household utilities, broadband, connectivity and communications. Having been in business for over 13 years, they have helped over 300,000 tenants with their household utilities or broadband requirements.
The Objective
Fibre Marketing partnered with The Glide Group to help bolster their leads from non-branded searches, whilst also increasing their online traffic and brand awareness for student utility and bill keywords.
The Challenges
Due to the hugely competitive market of household utilities and broadband, Glide were often competing with utility providers, broadband suppliers, and landlord associations themselves.
The Glide website also suffered from an overlap in organic targeting and direction, resulting in webpages competing domestically for organic visibility – reducing the focus and direction of the website. A priority of ours was to overhaul the organic direction of webpages, whilst also working to improve the levels of technical SEO on the website to improve crawlability.
The Strategy
Fibre began targeting Glide’s visibility for ‘student utility’ related keywords through the development of a new content section on their website – designed to specifically house targeted insights and thought leadership. Here, we broke down the various aspects of student living, budgeting and utilities.
We worked closely with the client to ensure that all content onsite reflected the clients tone of voice, to ensure consistency across all channels of content.
Alongside focused content marketing, we also began promoting Glide’s services on Universities and Student Unions to increase brand visibility for their key demographic.
